I am going to use the lights as accent lighting for my room instead of on a car. I have an AC electrical plug I connected to the lights rated at 12Volts 200ma. It seems to light them ok. My two questions with this are:
1: will this be a good way to light these lights?
2: if i use a 15volt plug will it cause them to shine brighter without risking damage or fire?

thank you for your help.

the answer to both your question is :there is not enought data amperage of the kit would be nice to know but an educated guess 1:yes this seems to be a good way to light the leds however the amp sure seem low i don’t think they shine very bright and 2:using 15 volt will cause them to heat excessively and burn out faster than they normally would with small to no benefit…

What do you think? Answer below!

Your power supply is low on current capacity. According to the link you provide there are 126 LED’s. An LED usually requires 20 to 40 mA for correct illumination. Even at 20 mA, that’s 2520 mA, or 2.52 amps of current. At 40 mA each that would be just over 5 amps. You need a bigger power supply. This is probably why they seem a little dim. Stay with the 12 volts, but get something that can provide 5 amps to be sure you have the correct current capacity.

First you have to use a 12V/1000mA adapter for the kit to work.
Using a 15V adapter will make the sound louder not the light since the kit has a voltage regulator for lights!!!!
