Question by marshall: How do you get rid of condensation inside automotive lights?
A few of my lights on my car have condensation in them. I’ve tried taking them off and letting them gry out but the condensation just comes back. How do I get rid of it for good?

You can try resealing them yourselves, or find a machine shop that can create a hard vacuum. They can drill the lamp, force the air and the moisture along with it out and reseal it.

The problem is the gaskets that seal the capsules are going to let some moisture in and they will fog. I would avoid trying to seal the gaskets or fittings with anything because of the intense heat generated by the capsules.

Question by thepartsman3: Where is the wiring at under the hood for fog lamps on a 96 Mustang?
I have a 96 Mustang V-6 with a custom paint job and I want to put factory GT fog lamp assemblies on the car so that it appears to be a GT. The only problem is I cant find the wiring to plug in the lamps. The wiring is there for the switch and the switch does work but I cant find the lamp pigtails or the wires. I need a detailed description (if possible) of where they are.

Isn’t it the 1157 that’s a dual-element bulb?

I know that sometimes an 1156 is amber (for turn signals) but I’ve never seen an amber 1141, and I wonder if the reason is that 1141 bulbs are so often used as back-up lights.

The 1141 is a single element bulb meaning it only has one brightness. The 1156 is a twin element bulb, one for high and one for low beams.

i just put a fog light switch out of a 98 mustang into my 95 it fits the harness and ever thing but when i flip the switch it doesnt work. My car originally didnt come with the switch or fog lights is there something i need to do to get them to work. i plugged it in to the cars wiring harness if that helps any.

Probably needs the fog lamp RELAY and the harness connection to make it work.

These lamps draw a VERY large amount of power and as such they need a relay to supply power to them. A simple switch does not have the power handling capacity to feed the lamps so the switch is relegated to “operating” the relay which operates the lamps.
