Question by t_a_v_o: I have a BMW E39 business cd player that keeps spitting out the cds with the cd error message.?
Not sure if better to ask in AUDIO or BMW forum….I have tried running a cd to clean the player but it to gets ejected after the player has tried to read it. I have tried both original cds and burned cds but neither one is accepted and i get the same error. Do i need a new cd player?

Without spending tens of thousands of dollars, you won’t get enough power to warrant high performance brakes (but hell, they’re still nice to have!)

Performance parts and weight distro…nothing to big, most performance parts are actually lighter than the OEM – you’ll be fine. If you intend to lower your vehicle you had better be prepared to pay the price – lowering changes aerodynamics and party wear. make sure you get an alignment.

I have an ’84 bmw 633 and it idles a bit high. Its also idling just a bit rough. I have checked bmw forums and everyone says it could be the ICV. Can someone tell me exactly where it is, and how to clean it? Thanks.

Using carb cleaner on an ICV is likely to ruin it. The spray takes the coating off the wires inside the unit and short it out. Try cleaning the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and use compressed air after spraying the inside area on both sides of the throttle plate. Make sure you have a bit of slack in the throttle cable so that the throttle plate closes all the way. Many vehicles relearn the idle rpm when you disconnect the battery for a minute or more. If you try that you will need to drive the car in stop and go conditions with the head lights and AC turned off so that there is no electrical load causing the ECU to send a signal to the IAC motor to increase the idle speed.
If that does not help take the car to the dealer and have them read the engine data to make sure the IAC motor is working.

I have an E36 with a lot of mods and yes they were worth it. I would spend my money first on suspension and brakes. Just adding a set of springs will make your car much more enjoyable to drive without sacrificing ride quality (they are pretty cheap also). Check out bimmerforums.com and see some of the stuff people have done to their cars, just beware you might become addicted to modifying cars (as I am) and it won’t stop. Another good cheap way to get horsepower is with a new chip/ reflash. They are called shark injectors at some places, others reflash the computer. This will be your best hp/$ increase without forced induction.
