the new odyssey is actually a fun minvan to drive, ive test driven one at a dealership and it handles really good for a minivan

Now, with that being said, can I find one of these cars 93-99 yr model, for around 2-8k ? and would you mind listing the pros and cons of each. Thanks

If I were to choose, I’d say a Honda Civic. Those things LAST FOREVER. Seriously. And they get great gas mileage. I’d say you could get a 98-2000 for your price range. They are all around great cars. I don’t know a lot about the acura, but I have heard they are pretty decent as well, especially for the price. Now I’d say the eclipse, out of all of them, would be the lower quality of the three. they are cute and nice but I think hondas and acuras are definitley more economical, especially with the horrific gas prices at the pump. Gas prices are only going to get worse, so stick with something you can afford that gets good G mileage. Another you might look at is toyota. They are top of the line. Not sure if they would be in your price range, but maybe. And toyota’s last FOREVER too. awesome cars.

Trying to find a video clip which was a promotion for a European Honda, where the auto parts are lined up like dominoes and sequentially interact with each other in Rube Goldberg fashion. I saw this clip about three years ago. Thanks.

I want to know if anyone can tell me which honda engines are more reliable? four cylinders or v6? How reliable do you think the v6 in the ridgeline will be?

I do not have much experience with V6 Honda engines because it’s very rare in the Singapore market. One thing I can say is that Honda is more famous for their inline fours. My personal favourite is K20 DOHC i-VTEC. But there are 2 variants to the K20 in the Asian market. One is 160BHP the other is 225BHP.

Surprisingly,the fuel consumption is good too. the 160BHP K20 can hit 16km/litre while the 225BHP BHP K20 can achieve 12km.litre. Few engines can achieve such power output to fuel consumption proportion. Although the 225BHP K20 produces such high power output for a NA engine, it has potential to be tuned to 250 to 260 BHP. It breaks the 100BHP/1000cc barrier for a NA engine besides the BMW M series engines.

The new 1.8 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine is also worth mentioning. 140BHP – 18km/litre. That is really a breakthrough in fuel consumption technology. Available in the new Civic VTI.

Question by MRW: What are the benefits of using genuine Honda parts?
My husband and I are having a disagreement about using genuine Honda brake shoes vs. generic ones. I think you get what you pay for and I don’t mind spending $ 40 more to get the best parts. He feels that brake shoes are brake shoes. If he is right, I don’t see why we should spend the extra money.

Quality would be different between different brands. Even the manufacturer’s have different level of quality to their pads/shoe.

If you like the genuine Honda shoes then see you find out who makes them and the buy that brand. For example, I know some BMW pads are made by Jurid. Find a store that sells it and it will be a lot cheaper then the dealer.

I personality don’t like to go cheap on brakes and tires, but I can understand your husband’s pov. The rear brakes are not as important as the fronts. And I don’t think the quality is that much different with shoes.

If he can say that he can get shoes of equal or higher quality for less then why not. Genuine Honda parts is not always the highest quality available.
