Question by Roo: Where do I find parts for a Daihatsu in the United States?
Hey folks,
I am considering purchasing a 1988 Daihatsu Charade as a commuter car. It has only 48k miles and is in perfect condition. My biggest concern is how difficult it is to find parts. Daihatsu dealers don’t exist here and I’m not sure if Toyota (who owns part of Daihatsu) supplies parts. It’s a 22yo car- so it’ll need something at some point and these cars are even difficult to find in junk yards. Anyone have any experience in owning or repairing Daihatsus? Thanks!

I couldn’t recommend buying a car like this. Dihatsu cars never had a great reputation for reliability even when new, and as you said, repair parts would be almost impossible to find.
What do you think? Answer below!
