Q&A: Ford trucks?

Question by DANIEL S: Ford trucks?
Do 2-wheel drive Ford trucks come with a locking differential from the factory or must they be special ordered with it? Thanks>

I’m guessing that it was either an option or was never made with locking differentials as mine doesn’t. Then again, it could have come into affect after 1989 since that is the year mine is. I havn’t payed enough attention to see if any did, and I’ve never really thought about it till now.

I’m sure it is an option. Most dealers however order them with a locking differential.

Two wheel Ford 2X4s come with a minimum slip rear axle but you can order a posi trac if that’s what you want.
