anyone know of any good jeep forums? jeep misfiring problem!?

Question by bldeagle10: anyone know of any good jeep forums? jeep misfiring problem!?
so in 99 my step mom bought a 99 cherokee. 4.0 inline 6. 11 years and 304500 miles later she is selling it to me
. there is alot to do but over all it is so so very clean. i want to sign up for a few jeep forums for any future questions i have. right now the main problem is there is a constant misfire. when you pop the hood the injector closest to you CONSTANTLY gets clogged up. i have replaced it many many times and had them cleaned professionally as well as bottles of injector cleaner all the time. but it always seems to clog up again.
the only way to prevent this is to drive it very very carefully. dont give it to much throttle. well. when driving up hilly roads or towing that isn’t possible…i think it could be a combination of a few things. it has 304500 miles on it. i think i may need to drop the fuel tank and clean it out. as well as i want to put an in the line fuel filter cause it has the in the tank one on the pump. and obviously its not doing its job to well…as well i want to replace the fuel rail and all the injectors. any one have any ideas as to what is the main issue here? its a very strong motor except this one problem.
thanks.

Jeep Forum is the largest online Jeep community. Here’s their technical forum for the Cherokee:

It sounds to me like you are on the right track for diagnosing the problem. I’m not a professional mechanic though so don’t take my word for it on that. Only do backyard wrenching.
I DO have a good Jeep forum though. Jeepforum.com. It’s really excellent and there are main people there, at least in the Wrangler section that I frequent, who have 20-30 years working with Jeeps. They know every problem and solution under the sun and are very helpful to anyone who asks a question. I would start there.
jeep forum is an excellent place for info.you can also find excellent info on http://www.bulltear.com
As a previous XJ owner, Cherokee designation in the Jeep world, I would STRONGLY recommend http://www.NAXJA.org (North American XJ Association). All the information is tailored to the XJ and you will find local chapter also, where many will help you out.
I’d start there, but as previously mentioned the Jeep Forum is a great place too.
