Question by Bryan Thomas: Are remanufactured engines good like this one?
I have a 1986 svo mustang 2.3 turbo motor and the motor has a broken rod so I want to get a remanufactured engine to get her running again but I want to know if these remanufactured and rebuilt engines are actually good or not. here’s a link to see the one i’m considering

havent checked the site. it all depends on the person building your engine. you can get a good engine and a bad engine out of the same shop. Go to the place in person if you can and ask questions on their procedure for rebuilding, warranty available. generally a poorly built engine will last longer than the usual 30 day warranty but not longer than a year. it’s all about cleanliness when rebuilding along with proper techniques. and make sure they use torque plates when checking cylinder heads

I bought an engine from these guys. The work was 5 star and with the parts that they use I could not have even bought all the parts for the cost of what they were selling. I think you’d be happy with the engine. I was with the one I bought from them.

The engine I bought was for a 350 Chevy. I was very happy with it. If you spec our and price the parts alone and what they offer there is no way you can touch that price. I was going to have my 350 rebuilt and I found those guys too. I showed the engine specs and parts list for the replacement engine and my rebuild guy said he could not touch that price with the quality of the parts and service being done. He suggested I go for it based on what I showed him. When the engine came in, we looked it over, switched over the parts to the new motor fired up right up. Very strong engine. I was really impressed and at the same time very worried I bought a junk “they claimed the rebuilt it motor” nope these guy did and said everything that they had advertised. I would go for it.

An engine that is properly rebuilt is essentially the same as a new engine. It’s impossible to say without doing some research on the shop or factory that’s doing it and seeing what kind of failure rate they have, and what kind of Better Business Bureau rating they have. Based on the page it looks like a good company.
